Tony's Bio

Guitarist Tony Ybarra was born and raised in Santa Barbara, CA. He is one of the most sought-after Spanish/Latin guitarists on the west coast. He is an active composer and has 6 albums to his name. His music has been featured in movies and tv shows including Dexter, Madam Secretary, and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Tony has performed across the United States as well as in Europe and Hong Kong. He is currently a featured guitarist at Ty Warner’s San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito CA.

Ybarra has performed with Flamenco virtuoso Adam del Monte, jazz composer Maria Schneider, Grammy winners Josh Groban, Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald. Most recently, Tony is the guitarist and arranger for Michael McDonald’s upcoming acoustic album due to be released in 2022 with special guest Spanish singer Buika.

 

Tony received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music where he studied with Jazz master Joe Diorio and Flamenco Maestro Adam Del Monte.

Ybarra Music was one of the few companies to not only provide solo guitar and guitar based groups, but also include: Jazz Ensembles, Flamenco Groups, Rock/R&B Bands Latin Jazz Ensembles, Classical Groups, and Vocal Ensembles.  Tony not only contracts these groups, but performs with them as well.  All of the musicians are hand picked by Tony and are recognized as professionals in their musical fields with credits that include: Santana, Doc Severson, Sergio Mendez, Michael Macdonald, Ricky Martin, Linda Ronstadt, Engelbert Humperdinck, Maria Schneider, Adam del Monte, Strunz & Farah, and Kenny Loggins to name a few. Tony and Ybarra Music's musicians provide world class entertainment with the highest level of professionalism and respect for their clients.
